HOW WILL I RECEIVE THE DRAWINGS?

The drawings will be available to you immediately after purchase.  A link to download the PDF file will be sent to the email you purchased with immediately following check-out.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

> CONCEPT PACKAGE

Intended for you to review the basic plan layout (594mm x 420mm Sheet Size. Print plans this size for correct scale), this package includes reference floor plans, diagrammatic exterior elevations and perspective views.  These plans are priced to aid you evaluating whether this is the right design for you (see my ‘unboxing’ video on Instagram & Facebook, where I go through the drawings you’ll receive).

• Cover Sheet – license agreement, contents + 3D perspective.

• Floor Plan –layout drawings, (BASIC overall dimensions only).

• Exterior Elevations – showing windows, doors, + exterior materials.

• Perspectives – External 3D views.

CAN I CONSTRUCT FROM THESE DRAWINGS?

No. These drawings are intended as a schematic package only. Should you require construction drawings for a specific design please get in touch.

DOES IT INCLUDE STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS?

​

No. These drawings are intended as a schematic package only.

 

DOES IT INCLUDE HYDRAULIC DRAWINGS/FIXTURE SCHEDULES?

​

No. Plumbing fixture types are shown on the plans, but the set doesn't include rough-in locations or fixture selections. If you'd like help selecting appropriate fixtures, Alex English Architects can be hired on an hourly basis to aid in the selection process. Plumbing runs and rough-in will be influenced by local regulations and must be coordinated with the structural design (see above). As such, these decisions are to coordinated with local subcontractors.

 

DOES IT INCLUDE ELECTRICAL DRAWINGS?

No. These drawings are intended as a schematic package only.  Alex English Architects can be hired on an hourly basis to develop and customize the lighting plan as needed to suit your design.

 

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO CONSTRUCT?

​

The magic question! The best place to start is by talking to a few local contractors. They’ll be able to give you a rough idea of what things cost to build in your area. Should your budget be exceeded, Alex English Architects can be engaged on an hourly basis to make the appropriate changes to make the package more ‘budget friendly’.

HOW ABOUT ENERGY EFFICIENCY?

​

All of our designs are sensitive to energy efficiency, passive conditioning and possess strong overall ESD principles. With context and orientation playing such a large role, once we begin further developing your project we will be able to understand the full potential of the projects efficiency.

CAN I COPY THE PLANS?

​

No, except: you are able to distribute the plans to Contractors + Subcontractors, so that they’re able to price your home, but you can’t freely distribute it to others to construct their homes too.  The plans are licensed for use in one home. Purchasing the plans means you're bound to the licensing terms, which spell reproduction rights out in more detail. I retain the copyrights for the plans but allow you to use them for the duration of the project.

 

WHAT IF I WANT TO CHANGE SOMETHING?

No Problem! Alex English Architects can be engaged on an hourly basis to make whatever changes you require.
