Ebb House
MELBOURNE
Designed for a young family, this home becomes a nurturing anchor — a place to gather, to grow, and to return to.
A setting for celebrations and quiet moments alike: a space to work, a place to unwind, and a backdrop for childhood play, music, movement, and the slow collecting of memories.

Defined by two broad, flat roof planes that evoke a quiet modernism.
The design responds directly to its north-facing corner site. By carefully positioning the building footprint toward the rear boundary, sunlight is invited deep into the plan, ensuring every key space benefits from natural warmth and light.

A living green wall protects the western façade, tempering the summer sun, while its canopy continues along the northern edge to shade the outdoor areas and shield the lower level during hotter months.

Upstairs, rooms are oriented to capture shifting views toward the park and lake. Downstairs, the architecture turns inward, framing the pool and surrounding greenery — a private landscape that buffers the home from the street and nearby public spaces. The result is a dwelling that balances openness and retreat, connection and sanctuary.
